Dans une vidéo postée sur son compte Facebook, Dwayne Johnson annonce la prochaine participation de David Hasselhoff dans le film adapté de la série Alerte à Malibu, dans laquelle il tenait le premier rôle.

Avant de jouer dans la série Alerte à Malibu, David Hasselhoff s’était fait connaître avec le rôle de Michael Knight dans la série des années 1980 K2000. Mais son rôle du sauveteur en mer Mitch Buchannon est certainement celui qui a fait de lui un acteur incontournable du petit écran dans les années 1990.
David Hasselhoff (qu’il faut parfois appeler "David Hoff") rejoint donc le film de Seth Gordon emmené par Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Dadario et quelques autres acteurs à la plastique parfaite : Kelly Rohrbach, Priyanka Chopra ou Hannibal Buress. Nul ne sait si Pamela Anderson, que la série d’origine avait également popularisée, sera de retour dans cette adaptation qui sortira le 10 mai 2017 sur les écrans français.
